· About Us ·

The name FPNK is derived from the Dutch phrase: ‘Firma Pruts en Klungel’. It’s challenging to translate accurately into English, but it embodies the spirit of ‘Tinkering and Fumbling Incorporated’. We chose this name because it carries a touch of self-deprecation. We’re constantly engaged in creating new things, mastering new skills along the way. We approach these endeavors with a sense of humor and an embrace of our initial clumsiness. This makes it much more manageable to experiment with new things and eventually become good at them. Most things start as tinkering and fumbling before evolving into something remarkable and valuable. This is exactly what we like to do.

As you may have already noticed in our logo, we’re involved in a wide range of activities. The content on our website only scratches the surface and remains a work in progress. Our repertoire includes woodworking and metalworking, 3d modeling, 3d printing, laser cutting/engraving and CNC milling. We also develop iOS/Android applications and specialize in Excel automation. Our projects span from motorcycle maintenance to the transformation of an old Fiat Panda into a pickup. We also build racing drones and use them for video production. As you can see, our interests are really diverse. We firmly believe that this broad perspective fosters the generation of more creative ideas and solutions. This quote encapsulates our philosophy effectively:

‘A Jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.’
